Making Time for the Market

I've been working and studying a lot this week but have managed to go to the farmer's market to pick up some fresh, local veg!

Feast your peepers! Organic cheese burger with grilled peppers and onions and a side of salad and beets! Possibly my favourite summertime meal!

This is my poker face. Trying to practice my slicing skills on an apple!

Some apple crumble!

This is what happens when we don't know what to make for dinner. It was so delicious. We used some of our vino to stirfry the noodles in, then topped with a spicy egg!

If You Can't Stand the Heat...

...Get out of Toronto! It was such a beautiful weekend. Friday and Sunday were especially gorgeous but we spent all three days outside, in fact I'm suffering a sunburn as a result. I didn't take many pictures outside but to fill you in we spent some time wandering the parks of Toronto, exploring Little Italy, Korea Town, U of T campus, and were nearly guests at a crazy convention downtown along with the most notable Kookoo's of TO, and their dogs.

We were in the mood for something different so we decided to try Ethiopian food! We found this highly recommended joint on yelp.ca called Nazareth so after wandering around little Italy, we walked up to Bloor and entered this little bar I like to call Heaven.

Ethiopian food is served with a type of sourdough crepe/pancake type break that doesn't seem to be cooked...unless they steam them or something. I'm investigating mystery bread after I write this so stay tuned.

Andrew and our meal! Tibs with some vege samplers.

We asked for something not too spicy to eat and either the funny waitress thought we were being sarcastic, or she didn't understand the word 'not'. Either way we were both hit with spice bombs in our first bite.

Tibs - meat in sauce - in the middle
Vege sampler's - lentils in sauce, vege's in sauce with grape leaves, lettuce, cottage cheese

The strange bread! Not as thin as a crepe, not as bready as a pancake, bubbly, and easy to tear

Maxin', Relxain'

My time in Toronto has been lax to say the least. I wake up at 9, go to work where I am surrounded by the aromas of coffee that I love so much, and enjoy a crepe. At night I come home to make dinner with Andrew and maybe go for a walk, play crib, or watch a movie. I am literally on a perma-vacation.

Do I have you relaxed an mellowed yet? Here are some pictures of this weekend.

Afterwards Steph took us for a tour of U of T
